I've seen the recent spam posts mostly consist of posts with empty bodies, whenever I happened to see a few before they were deleted. Would it help to lower the spam volume if the forum prevented posts with no message body or very short ones from users who are not logged in?

Forum regulars who want to make these brief commenting-only-in-the-title posts can always log in before posting. Others would get redirected to a page saying your post is not allowed because the message body is too short. You'd have to find an appropriate low limit so as not to stop legitimate short posts people sometimes make.

I don't have the info to tell if this would stop enough spam to be worth it, or be a hassle to real people posting useful stuff. I'm just suggesting it, because it sounds fairly quick to implement and test; and easy to remove if it turns out not to help enough.

It's surprising how little shows up for me, but they all seem to get the location right. I only got 8 results for a google search. 

The spam bots are becoming more advanced... Now they're linking to coupon sites or something! (I wasn't dumb enough to click that link)

when you registered, it sent a link to your email. did you click that link to finish registering? 

I can only assume, since I clean up my email couple weeks ago, I probably removed that email. Now I'm trying to find way how to make that system resend that verification email. 

What are you trying to post? A comment, a news...? I never had any problem with posting comments but I tried to post a news once (regarding map jam 7, if I remember correctly) and I had the same issue.

Gladly, maybe I just don't see the way how to make that contact. I was able to reset password, but I'm still lacking permissions to do basic things like.. commenting. I tried to read some topics talking about bots? so I assume this was one the methods how to decrease those users, because they need to ask the permission. But unfortunately I cleaned up my gmail couple weeks ago and wasn't aware that I didn't verify my account. My account name is same as in here.
