Very sad news to report that has been confirmed by his brother, known online as Whitefish. Also a message from his long time friend ryanscissorhands:
"I am very sad and sorry to announce that Tronyn, the Norse God of Mapping and Rants, has unexpectedly died this week. I have known him personally for 34 years, and his passion and talent were unmatched by anyone I’ve ever met. He has contributed so much to the Quake Mapping community for two and a half decades, and has blown so many minds with his level design, architecture, and project vision. He will be sorely missed.
May we feast and drink together again some day, basking in the glory of Valhalla.
