Talk about anything in here. If you've got something newsworthy, please submit it as news. If it seems borderline, submit it anyway and a mod will either approve it or move the post back to this thread.

PC only,
Yes JPLambert, I remember GT series, I had GT,GT2 and GT3, but I no longer have any consoles, just not enough time to split between PC and consoles, so they had to go.
 Hmm

Racing games tend to be one of those genres that are focused on console. I think you're gonna be limited by what's out more than what's suitable for you.
ps. Burnout (2 for preference, although 3 is damn good fun too) is greatest racing game ever

I'm quite into racing games. I don't have any at the moment, but I'm going to splurge on: Colin Mcrae Rally 3, 04 and 2005 - then Richard Burns Rally, and also GTR - FIA endorsed GT racing game, which was actually a successful mod for an F1 game. Check www.3dgamers.com for some demos. If you want to try some multiplayer in any of the Colin series demos that allow it, I'm up for it.
BTW - really try that GTR demo. While it's a press demo and you can only practice on the track (there should be a public demo coming), the sense of speed and hearing the engine and turbo is awesome. You can also adust your seat forward and back, and height, look left/right/up/down inside the car... Tip: turn traction control ON or you will spin out easily.
 Gotham! Gotham!

PGR2 = orgasm, if you like a semi-realistic racer.
Burnout 2 is a great arcade racer. Burnout 3 is Burnout 2 minus skill and plus a load of pointless EA flash.

"Hey guys, I've just been checking out the scores at burnout3.ea.com and..."
:D
Yeah, 2 was definately a better game, but I still liked 3, just not enough traffic on most of the courses :/
 Err

didnt he say pc only? :D
Have a look at Need for speed underground, its awesome. Best sense of speed I have seen in a game so far. (although burnout3's is very good too!)
Also, colin mcrae 2005 is cool, I tried the demo and its pretty fun.
 Thank You

Yes, PC only, but thanks all the same.
GTR looks promising, will keep my eye on it. Am downloading that demo now and will check it out asap.
Colin Mcrae, will be checking the latest, and comparing it with Richard Burns Rally which I have been hearing good things about.
NFSU, I will check out the demo for that, although from what I remember from the NFS series, I had the original, NFS2, and another one for playstation long ago, and although I had a great time back then, as time went on and I began to appreciate more sim/realistic physics types, I left that series behind. But it will be interesting to see how it stands now.
Thanks again

Looks like a Fast and Furious type game and it appears like it's only night-rain races, at least what I gather from screenshots. You won't find realism there, there's not even any interior views anymore. I'm gonna download the CMR 05 multiplayer demo just to try the different Germany stage.

submit this shit as news ffs.
 Hmm

Any chance someone can edit the original text of GA to say "Do not post news in the GA thread, click here to submit it as news" or similar.
Apart from anything else, it stops half the discussion of a news item being in GA and half of it being in the news thread when someone finally gets around to posting it as news.

Submit this shitty attitude for counselling ffs.
#5512 posted by - on 2004/09/23 19:45:01
You were asked with your last newsworthy post to please submit news, my attitude reflects your dismissal of our request. Since I can't simply move posts to news, I need things submitted properly. If it's borderline on 'newsiness', submit anyway, and a mod will either post it as news, or reject it which posts it here.
 Now Was That Hard?
#5513 posted by VoreLord on 2004/09/23 19:50:59
I really just wanted to tell you to shove it up your fucking ass, but unlike you, I seem to be able to be at least a little civil, and withheld that. As I will with the rest of what I would like to say.
 Hmm
#5514 posted by nonentity on 2004/09/23 19:58:25
VoreLord, yes scampie swore.
Big fucking deal, you were already told, politely, to add such posts as news. You refused to do this, which (imo) warrants a harsher reply.
Maybe now you'll actually submit this stuff as news. It's no more complex than posting it here and is a benefit to the whole 'community'. Is that really that hard a concept to grasp?
 Oh, Sorry
#5515 posted by - on 2004/09/23 19:58:57
what I meant to say was 'go map you worthless faggot'.
 Hmm

VoreLord, yes scampie swore.
Big fucking deal
Did I say anything about swearing ???
Yes I posted something which some consider news, in the GA thread, BIG FUCKING DEAL.
Not as if this is the bastion of all things Unreal, and the GA thread would have been overun with comments about it.
you were already told
Show me where I was told please.
And as for being told LMAO, get a life

No, actually, I'll just continue as is.

I Can't Tell You That Here
#5519 posted by VoreLord on 2004/09/23 20:20:00
as it may constitute "News", which would have to be submitted as a News post.
 Hmm
#5520 posted by nonentity on 2004/09/23 20:31:00
Firstly, I didn't say you were told with the emphasis you're implying, however, someone telling you to do something suggests that you were... well... told to do it, at least within my understanding of the English language.
Show me where I was told please.
http://celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=1&start=5456
Oh, and of course there are the various other posts such as [ http://celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=1&start=5393 ] that show that people should be submitting things as news. Oh, and the entire fucking thread that (among other things) concludes that we should be submitting more news [ http://celephais.net/board/view_thread.php?id=20859 ].
One would have thought that if you're going to participate in a forum then you respect the rules and ways of that forum rather than willingly ignoring the requests of the moderators. Either that or please, just fuck off.
And finally, Can't Tell You That Here as it may constitute "News", which would have to be submitted as a News post is a stunning example of wit that makes us all think better of you. Or just pathetic pettiness that makes you look like a wanker, I forget which.
 Hmm
#5521 posted by nonentity on 2004/09/23 20:41:45
Bah, started two sentences in a row with "Oh, and" :/
And on a continuation of my previous post (yes, I'm aware I should no better, but I enjoy it ;)
get a life
To quote someone else, I don't need to, I'm a gamer, I have lots of lives.
And quite frankly, I'm not the one complaining because someone was slightly rude to me on the internet (oh no!), possibly try practising what you preach.
(And in case you were wondering, I am instead complaining because you seem unable to grasp the concept of abiding by the 'ways' of this forum.)
 Hmm
#5522 posted by nonentity on 2004/09/23 20:42:38
My apologises for the triple post, but I cannot let my usage of 'no' instead of 'know' go unmentioned
 Hmmm

Shambler is not a mod here,
http://celephais.net/board/people.php
Scroll to the bottom.
so I never ignored any request from a mod. So get your facts straight, Either that or please, just fuck off.
Show me where I was told please
I guess I should have said that more clearly, you are obviously having trouble. When someone tells you to do something, it naturally comes with the assumption that they have the power to do so, At least in my understanding of things. As Shambler is not a mod, and is as anyone else on these boards, he does not have that power.
And as for following rules etc, up until recently the only rule in GA was
Talk about anything in here. Your understanding of anything may be different to mine, but thems the breaks.
makes you look like a wanker
Thats fine, I have no problem with that. But the difference between you and me is, I know I'm a wanker
