That really is the trick too -- 9/10 times. My uncle has been a chef his whole life in many different locales, and he said when you go out to eat, alot of the time what makes the food so good, is everything is smothered in butter. There are alot of other very very very unhealthy tricks that make dining out so desirable.

For example, KFC uses more sugar to make those servings of coleslaw than you will find in a Hershey bar. And when you get ribs that are juicy and moist from a steakhouse or similar restaraunt, chances are those ribs have been soaking in a layer of bacon fat and butter overnight. 

Now I can never eat food ever again.

I have seen the filmmaker in several interviews. From the clips, it appears to me, he stuffs his gord every time he goes through the drive through.

When I spent a month on a work contract in a city I didn't know, I was forced through circumstances to dine out at every meal. Without going to excess as he did, I easily gained over ten pounds in the first two weeks.

After that, I bought Ramen noodles and cereal and I used hotel rec room microwave instead of dining out every meal. If you don't watch out for yourself, no ammount of hand holding is going to prevent you from doing yourself in.

I don't know about the message in the movie, but the filmmaker clearly had a reformist agenda in his interviews.

well... maybe the HL2 engine. basically, something spiffy with lots of detail things and that neat paralaxing texture effectxor and dynamic light(xors).
i don't want this theoretical SS3 anywhere near DP until it stops sucking. (aside from q3bsp support) 

Why does DP suck in your opinion? 

it's not so much as generic suckage, just that it is bloated with stuff and just doesn't feel the same anymore. i do like the q3bsp support and the bbox 'fix' allowing any sized bboxes. (as well as the flying monsters clipping into walls bugfix, i think?)

one could of course argue that since the intention was for an entirely different game (than quake) that 'feel' wouldn't matter anymore and you'd be right. i am just very biased. :P

I'd just like to say that I too am getting increasingly disillusioned with DarkPlaces. I really, really want to use it for my next map, which I want to make in the q3bsp format, but there are just too many little things that irritate me. What's the deal with the lightning effect and why does it seem to lag behind the player so much? Also, am I the only one who sees the Shambler lightning all screwed up? Can I restore the original lightning effect? Can I enable classic-style particle effects?
