Well I'll have to wait, Spirit. I see it's SP only. I only have 1 decent DM release. :)

Here, in Wisconsin. Of starvation, to be specific.
They say the cost of living here is nice and low, but apparently 'they' have never been to Chin's, where they charge you eight dollars for a 'chicken stir fry' meal that consists of a lot of vegetables and enough little dry pieces of ambiguous chicken meat that you could probably almost cover the surface of a quarter, or any number of other establishments around here that expect you to pay through the nose for the same flavorless lack of meat, namely all of them.
Plus all the tables have a gross of chopsticks in the little centerpiece thing but the rice they serve with the meal isn't the sticky clumping kind. What the fuck.

Wisconsin blows. You'll have to get used to it for awhile.

the thing about Southern cuisine though is you find your self hungry all over again after forty eight hours.

Yes, Wisconsin sucks. You should move to Seattle. That's where I'm gonna go, we can be roommates or somesuch. I dunno wtf Chin's is, but it sounds like they're ripping you off. Go to Wong's Wok ffs and get some cheap ass orange-sweet-n-sour chicken shit. Mmmm, that sounds good.

The Q1SP file archive is a great idea, but I'd suggest improving browsing to at least include a simple alphabet selection (initial letter).
Browsing through 800+ files 20 at a time is a bit hard ...
 Actually...

Having lived on both coasts and a shitload of places in between, I like Wisconsin quite a lot; it has that whole homey midwestern thing going on.
But yeah, it's not a place with a whole hellava lot of really interesting ethnic/non-American cuisine.
I've heard this place is really good, but haven't gone yet... http://www.bandungrestaurant.com/

I don't have anything against Madison other than it being so far from the west coast, and the people I know here. And the climate.
#8636 posted by Zwiffle on 2005/08/26 20:52:37
I've been to Madison only twice, but the UWMadison campus is sexy. Way better than UWMilwaukee, although UWMilwaukee is right by the lakefront which is beautiful in summer. Still, Wisconsin sucks.

Yeah, you're right. My main intention was that people would just use the file search, but that was a quite stupid intention I didn't really think about. Unfortunately the archive is just a script I downloaded and "installed", so adding such alphabetical list on a good way will be quite hard. Of course I could just do it by hand, but naaaahh.... I'll talk to the developers, I think that's the smoothest way, heh :D
I will split up the archive into "recommended files", "crap", and other categories somewhen. This will make browsing a bit easier already. But I'd like to do this in a "good" way, ie having that large list as well and those categories only as "gimmicks".
What really pisses me off about the archive, is that all the original filedates are gone. I'm sure this is some stupid windows feature or something... I burned the files on CDs and woooosh the dates were gone :(

Solution in a few easy steps:
1. Cook some food at home prior to your day at work.
2. Bring said food to your workplace in a handy plastic container, or anything that gets the job done.
3. Warm food up, eat.
There you go, three steps. You'll get better food, and you'll save tons of money.
I'm also baffled by the fact that in Finnish McDonald's a miniscule carton of milk costs more than a slightly larger coke.

Can't you pull the dates from e.g. the txt files inside the zip? You can extract the txt files, rename them to zip and then copy only the attributes back to the real zip. That should be fairly quick.
 MILK > COKE
#8642 posted by than-in-japan on 2005/08/27 02:04:59
that's why. Wake up your taste buds, man. Coke is vile. It's also incredibly cheap to produce (esp. the watered down variety McDonalds peddle) so there is a lot more profit. Even though Maccy D's want you to think they are trying to make an effort with healthy food, they want you to buy the junk because that's where most of their profit comes from. Even if they sold 50% pseudo-health food and 50% junk, there would be more profit on the junk.
Also, WTF is wrong with UK McDonald's? The menu is horrendous. McDonald's is still shit in Japan, but at least there is a bit more choice, and the prices are marginally lower. I guess it's the cheap American beef they use over here. I suspect the UK McDonald's must use only the finest Angus steak or something :/

Thanks metlslime for taking the time and effort to maintain such an excellent site for us all to use and skulk about on. It doesn't get said enough, and I know you're not wealthy or that you have tons of free time, so thanks that much more for keeping the site afloat.

Wake up your taste buds, man. Coke is vile.
The taste of coke still comes from its original source, that is the cocoa leaf; though the leaf is denatured of its life affirming essense and what we have in its place is a tepid, minor stimulant, it is still better than milk.

1. Find someone who cooks really, really well and somehow trick them into marrying your lazy ass. Have them cook meals for you prior to your time at work.
