Late As Always ...

It seems that at this point, Func_Msgboard does not need to exist anymore, at least in its current form. I've been thinking of what should happen to it, and my current though is to turn it into a read-only archive for people to continue to reference when needed. There's no timeline for this and it will probably be a while before I pull the trigger, so until then I'm happy to hear other suggestions.
I have always had a love / hate relationship with this place. I love the goldmine of information and cranky people, but I always hated the anon posting! Maybe if this was a login / members only forum (maybe a cooldown on new members to prevent throwaway / spam accounts) then I would certainly invest more time. I have so many fond memories of this place and thanks metlslime/mods for all your time over the years.

Feels "alive" in the same sense as the Facebook account of a dead person that's still up, but yeah I'm glad that it remains possible to post here.
So, Where Should We Go To Get New Maps?

New maps announcements were usually done here. Now what?

Usually new stuff appears on Slipseer.

A month ago Spirit replied on Quaddicted forum that a new interface to the maps database is in the works and these new releases are visible in it, but this new thing is not public yet.

Oh and of course on Quake Mapping Discord. Jams and similar events and releases are usually announced over there as well as on Slipseer.
@Barnak
Quaddicted is indeed getting a re-design. I think it will be a bit of time before you see new maps there. Here's a fantastic web tool that polls both the sites and has an RSS feed as well. You won't see any recent Quaddicted maps there at the moment but they should show up whenQD is back to 100%.

I hope the new map list interface maintains the density of the current one.
