 Update At My Site:
i going to start reviewing maps for the awesome FPS Daikatana!!
Daikatana ripped-ff the 17 people who bought it, maybe 5 or 6 years ago, [no-one can really remember] and was immediatley hailed as being...crap.
Read this pathetically bad marketing blurb that 3 guys threw together one drunken lunchtime:
"Designed by the legendary [legendary according to who, exactly?] John Romero, Daikatana is a first person perspective action, which takes the 3D shoot'em up genre into a new dimension. [the dimension of terrible and overrated garbage].
24 huge levels [filled with green frogs] that span four time periods!!!
Superior artificial intelligence [superior compared to something with the worst artifical intelligence in the world, ever], including dialogue between characters. [they wrote desparately]!!!"
So!!! i am sure there are lots and lots of "D1SP" maps out there. [hehe]
I am happy to start reviewing these maps at my site as a way to draw attention and thank "the talentless idiot with an ego the size of California" for providing [inflicting] on us this truly awful experience.
Waring: after reviewing 2 maps i may have to stop reviewing Daikatana SP maps for reasons of "actually wanting to play a good computer game".

underworldfan makes a lame attempt to blatantly copy shambler.
That's not much of an April Fool is it....
 Hi Shambler...
have you really done something like this before?
i seriously dont know.
Besides i think Jon Romero is an asshole, so any excuse...

You're an asshole.

1) DKT was actually a fairly good game if you bothered to play it rather than just going along with the general sheep view of slagging it off. Yes the first episode and the buddy AI sucked, but apart from that it was nice (not great, but good) and had some cool ideas (tip, play through the last 3/4 in coop on your own).
And Romero is arguably legendary given he designed your favourite fucking game (among others), and Quake 3 showed what happened when iD lost him as a designer.
2) April Fools is a fucking retarded excuse for a "tradition" anyway. It's even more pathetic on an international medium (ie, the net) where users local time can differ by nearly an entire day (although more likely about 18 hours). 12 hours is bad enough, 30 hours of 'jokes' just makes my eyes bleed.
Now shut up and get the fuck of my internet.
 Hmm

That should of course be;
get the fuck *off* of my internet
(and I probably should have added a 'fuck' between shut and up since I'm not sure my disdain showed through clearly enough)

your disdain is well metted on nothingness itself
 Hmm
ok then.
I Mean, You Are Complaining About April Fools?

First, are we all forgetting the great pranks of the past, like when PlanetQuake had the front end of the site diverted to Geocities. Come on! That was fucking brilliant.
 Go For It, UnderworldFan!

Now is your chance to shine in the mighty embers of a flamewar.
Though I agree with your opponents that Romero gets way to much gratudious criticism and he is probably no where near being the douchebag the media makes him out to be.
 Hmm

Oh yes, the inability to access/trust information for an entire day really makes my life better/amuses me/serves any kind of vaguely useful purpose.
 Hmm
#3973 posted by nonentity on 2004/04/01 22:41:27
It's not really a flame war. I just hate April Fools with a burning passion. My disgust at the renewal of the old "DKT suck! huh huh huh" line is just a side thing :)
Oh, UWF, I Didn't Mean You Were Nothingness Itself

I was saying nonentity's anger turned from a sharply focused bitch slapping and then, well, he lost focus and he started punching drunk at April's Fools Day, or something about the relevance of time frame and how we should be sensitive to the fact some kid in Botswana might not find April Fool's relevant to his particular condition, or something like that. I don't fucking know but it was an ugly last round.
 Hmm

It's not about relevance (or lack of). It's about stupidity and pointlessness.
Hey, I Hated April Fools Day

When I was a kid. They would do things like replace my M&Ms with Skittles. Instead of the warm, loving, I would even say, womb-like taste of chacolate, I would instead be assaulted by the burning sensation of citrus flavors sputtering like a bukake rainfall upon my tounge. Such impressions can burn in you soul forever. Come to think of it, I hate April Fools too.

HeadThump; It's not the pranks I mind, they're just silliness, it's April Fools on the net I object to.
scampie; How could you forgot? I'm obviously not whining enough these days :p

I Won A Copy Of Masters Of Doom From GameSpy! Yes!

Great book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, especially the bit about how they played Carmack's elaborate version of D&D and Romero rolled the dice to become the most powerful or make the universe collapse in on itself, and the D&D universe collapsed =)
I will never speak a bad word about Gamespy because they gave me a free book with no hassle!

Have you managed to get a hold of Doom yet? Let me know, I can help you out there. I will be down for a day or 2, while I format and reinstall everything.
