[Prey SP] Lost City
BJA has released a short, but very well put together Prey SP level. Combat is a little weak, but it's definitely worth a run through just to admire the presentation and atmosphere.

Looks Pretty Good
from the screenies.
Ahh
While Prey is basically Doom 3 with aliens, that map looks great - good to see something different, or utilize the town setting more often.

screenies are not working - only I have that problem? :)
Nah
Host is temporarily down.
I Was Wondering
whether there were any custom prey sp maps before I took the cd out the drive and put it in the case. Nice to see there is one.

I thought Prey was quite different to Doom 3 by the way. Much better gameplay and set pieces and far less frustrating.

screenies are working :P looks nice. at last something not in 'base style' :)
/me Cries
So beautiful. I have such a long way to go.

DOWNLOAD
Screenies.
Look very good, nice style.

Do I have Prey installed any more??
Looks Good Indeed
too bad i uninstalled prey just one day before this news post. :\
Wow
Yes, the shots are really cool... a shame that my PC doesn't support Prey... *sights*
OK...
...that was fun. Weapons came on line as needed. Some of the spookier DooM3 effects worked well, my skin didn't crawl but I certainly felt uneasy. Nice recycling of the voice tracks, especially the end. Ah...pathos! Not enough of it in gaming :)

I could get sick of "real world" environments real quick, but this is just twisted enough (and short enough) to be well worthwhile. Thanks bja, you rock!
Do We Need A Prey Icon?

No
this will be the only prey map.
There Is At Least One Other SP Prey Map
Leon Brinkmann has already released on other SP Prey map:

Yeah
But that map isn't newsworthy. This one is. No offense to Leon Brinkmann and whatnot.
Thanks
Hi, just wanted to thank everyone for feedback and nice words. Very much appreciated and I'm glad that you liked the map :)

i gotta say i found it boring. sorry, but i didnt find it that fun when it come to gameplay. but the design of the level was awesome. just thought the gameplay was boring as hell. and the effects felt cheesy and stuff. :-(
Awe And Frustration...
A perfect showcase. Great eyecandy. Highly refined environment, worth to explore in detail. Gameplay? Looks like a DM level in which some monsters got lost. At first, the ending seems promising but it just fizzles out...

Come on JohnX, don't be a party pooper! This is the second map for Prey since the game release!

It actually started as a DM level ;) That's why some of the folders are still named "dm". This map was redesigned so many times that I just wanted to get it done.
Thanks again for feedback.
Uh
i gotta say i found it boring. sorry, but i didnt find it that fun when it come to gameplay. but the design of the level was awesome.

Aren't you contradicting yourself there?

not really. i liked the design, but the gameplay sucked. :-) i think those are to different things.
Agreed.
It's really more a showcase map than anything, but BJA never promised us a rose-garden.

not really. i liked the design, but the gameplay sucked. :-) i think those are to different things.

The whole point behind level design is the gameplay. The visual side is important but it's definitely not the most important.
Maybe He Meant The Visual Design Then?

whats so confusing by saying i liked how the level looked but didnt like the gameplay? there is no big mistery there. i mean, czg gets it. :-)
